Fields Chrysler Jeep Ram in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive systems, perform road-test inspections, and communicate job estimates to the Service Advisor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of service technician experience, 3+ years with CDJR transmissions, a high school diploma, and a customer‑service mindset. We offer comprehensive benefits, ongoing training, and opportunities for advancement within our family‑owned shop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience required.
• 3+ years working directly with CDJR transmissions.
• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor to inform customers of additional needed services and time estimates.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Service Technician experience required, 3+ years working directly with CDJR transmissions
• PHASE 3 CDJR TRAINING LEVEL, With Transmission Certification a must
• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic Computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• Team player
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record according to dealership guidelines
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
