Job summary

Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN is hiring an Open Heart Surgical Technologist. You will scrub, pull cases and assist the physician during cardiac procedures, providing intra-operative support and compassionate patient care. Requirements include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician program, Surgical Technician certification and current BLS.

One year of surgery experience in Open heart or related areas is preferred. No travel.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Open Heart Tech–Surgical Tech is responsible for pulling cases, scrubbing cases and assisting physician with surgery.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
• You will promote customer service initiatives.
• You will function as scrub person during operative procedures.
• You will demonstrate ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
• You will assist in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program
• Surgical Technician certification required
• BLS Certification current
• 1 Year of surgery experience preferred in the following areas: Open heart, General, GYN, Urology, Plastics, and Orthopedics.

No Travel Required

Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
