Job Summary

The Industrial Athletic Trainer will plan, coordinate, and supervise all components of a worksite injury management and health improvement program for employees. Unique skills include injury prevention and evaluation, ergonomic risk assessments, OSHA emergency/first aid treatment, health education, and worksite health promotion and marketing activities.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive wellness assessments and ergonomic risk analyses
• Develop and implement site-specific wellness initiatives and programs
• Design ergonomic interventions using innovative, creative solutions and employee empowerment
• Provide first-aid treatment and management for musculoskeletal complaints, including ice, heat, stretches, massage, tape techniques, and non-rigid bracing
• Conduct orthopedic injury assessments, focusing on education and injury prevention (not rehabilitation services)
• Coordinate and implement treatment plans with therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning
• Analyze data and handle administrative tasks such as data collection, documentation, and report generation
• Foster an environment of trust and care to help workers reduce injury risks
• Communicate with safety personnel on rehab and injury prevention activities; advocate for non-occupational injuries
• Attend meetings and serve on committees as requested
• Potentially author articles for newsletters and intranet
• Position may require proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Board of Certification (BOC) certified
• State licensure/certification
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Willingness to travel to various client locations
• Strong interpersonal skills for relationship building

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of athletic training experience
• Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and worker’s compensation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with ergonomic/occupational health
• CEAS/OSHA10 certification
