Job summary

Select Physical Therapy in Avon, CT is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to support Canton High School for the 2026/2027 school year. This part-time role covers 30 hours per week at the Canton High School site.

Compensation is $35.00 per hour, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and coordination of care for student-athletes. The ATC will design programs, manage emergencies, and promote outreach for the clinic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree required.
• NATA-BOC Board Certification.
• CPR certification and applicable state license.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation.
• Determine the need for and administer athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to reduce injury risk.
• Determine effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record athlete progress.
• Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures, including basic life support.
• Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (races, club teams, etc.)

Select Physical Therapyis seeking a passionate Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to provide care for our athletes! In this role, you will service contracted schools and coordinate access to additional health care for their athletes. This position will be supporting Canton High School 30 hours per week for the 2026/2027 school year.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement specific therapeutic programs for injured athletes’ rehabilitation
• Determine the need for and administer proper athletic training techniques before and during games/practices to decrease risk of injury (techniques can include taping, wrapping, bracing, proper hydration and minor wound care)
• Determine the effectiveness of athletic training/rehabilitative techniques and record change as indicated by athlete response within limits of specified plan of care
• Manage emergency incidents, coordinate EMS and acute care procedures, including basic life support, to reduce the impact on function of an injured athlete.
• Seek outreach opportunities and participate in events to promote the company (races, club teams, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree
• National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA-BOC) Board of Certification
• CPR certification
• Applicable state license where required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
