JOB TITLE: Athletic Trainer

GOVERNMENT AGENCY & LOCATION:

124th Operations Group

Idaho Air National Guard

Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho

POSITION TIMING: Immediate hire upon Contract Award and completion of all background and security investigations. Candidates must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent for submission with their resume.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide services for the 124th Operations Group (OG), 124TH Fighter Wing (FW) at Gowen Field Airbase in Boise, Idaho.
  • Hours will not exceed 80 hours a week and will generally be 0800-1600 each workday during regular work weeks, and 1200-2000 during “night flying” weeks as defined by the Idaho Air National Guard Calendar.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Licensed Athletic Trainer (OATA) and NATA-certified.
  • Degree in Athletic Training from a NATA-accredited institution (no substitutions).
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience with professional/collegiate athletes preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an orthopedic outpatient PT clinic preferred.
  • Worked directly with workers’ compensation employees under the supervision of a Licensed Physician or Physical Therapist.
  • Experience working with military pilots or elite collegian or professional athletes or Special Forces personnel, and with programs similar to optimizing the human weapon systems program or those specifically designed to deal with neck and back issues similar to those experienced by fighter aircrew.
  • Strongly preferred: experience with combat injuries and fighter aircrew.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and/or Physical Therapy, Master of Science, NATA Member (if Athletic Trainer), ATC and PT License, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training/certification, NATA, and PT continuing education compliant
