Qualifications

• 3 years of coding experience required or preferred.
• Experience working with medical insurance.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AHIMA credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and appeal unpaid claims daily.
• Complete follow-up work on appealed claims.
• Coordinate with insurance carriers on appeal issues.
• Provide feedback to coding department on errors or updates.
• Review remits to confirm accurate payments.
• Review denials for accuracy and resolve issues.
• Obtain information to expedite appeals.
• Close and print daily batch proof.
• Make charge corrections in the practice management system.
• Attend continuing education programs for coding.
