Responsibilities

• Take an active role in developing the academic and personal strengths of students.
• Serve as a role model/mentor to students.
• Determine from notes and discussions the concepts that need to be taught or retaught.
• Evaluate student binders and calendars to track progress.
• Become familiar with classroom libraries and textbooks used by students.
• Conduct tutorial sessions in mathematics with a strong math focus.
• Lead mini-lessons in writing and study skills.
• Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations.
• Assist with writing process steps from brainstorming to editing.
• Communicate progress and concerns with the coordinator/teacher.
