Job summary

Blaire House of Worcester is a 75-bed skilled nursing center focused on Dementia and Alzheimer’s care. We seek an energetic Certified Activity Director to plan and oversee programs that enhance residents' quality of life, including social, educational, and recreational activities.

The role involves coordinating events, assisting residents with daily activities, and managing community partnerships. A high school diploma is required, with college degree preferred; valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; English reading/writing skills essential.
• Experience coordinating group programs (outings, crafts, parties) and scheduling transportation.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Director with development of programs within the operations plan and budget.
• Develop and implement social, travel, education, health, religious and recreational programs to enhance quality of life for residents.
• Create and manage a calendar of events including evenings and weekends.
• Assist residents in daily recreational activities and transport assistance (minimum 15 lbs).
• Maintain records for programs and communicate information to the Executive Director.
• Coordinate contracts with outside service providers (travel agents, caterers, lecturers, entertainers).
• Demonstrate patience, kindness, and tact when working with elderly residents.
