Elevate Aircraft Seating is seeking a Certification Engineer for our Huntington Beach, CA team in a hybrid role. You will develop and execute certification programs to show compliance with regulatory and OEM requirements, interacting with airlines, OEMs, FAA, and suppliers as needed.

Experience levels align with a multi-tier framework; best suited for engineers with significant knowledge of certification processes, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience level follows a tiered system from Level I to Level III based on years of engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of FAA/TSO regulations and testing processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop certification test plans and reports to prove regulatory and OEM compliance.
• Coordinate with project team to define scope, schedule, and design details for certification.
• Oversee test article builds and conformity activities.
• Review designs and drawings to identify necessary changes for certification.
• Maintain up-to-date certification records and communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Interface with airlines, OEMs, FAA, and suppliers to maintain timelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert for certification topics including flammability, dynamic and static testing.

We are looking for a skilled Certification Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach CA. This is a hybrid position based in Huntington Beach CA. We value teamwork inclusivity and continuous professional development and we offer competitive benefits along with opportunities for growth.

Hybrid Work Arrangement

This role is designated as hybrid; however candidates should anticipate working onsite full time during the initial onboarding and ramp up period. Following successful integration into the role a hybrid schedule will be available based on performance business needs and team requirements. Regular onsite attendance is required for customer meetings testing and key business activities.

JOB SUMMARY

The Certification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.

Note The primary difference between job levels is tied to skill level complexity of the problem solving and year of experience. Job assignments will be based on experience job opening and budget availability and the performance level of the incumbent.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

• Develop certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.
• Communicate with project team members to identify scope of work schedule design details quotes risks and other pertinent factors impacting certification.
• Oversee and assist as necessary with test article build and conformity.
• Review prototype designs and drawings; identify and communicate necessary changes.
• Identify potential certification issues and any adverse impact; communicate any certification related information to supervisor and impacted disciplines.
• Analyze problems and derive appropriate solutions.
• Develop tools as necessary to track deliverables testing compliance findings to assure on time completion of certification tasks.
• Maintain accurate and up to date certification records.
• May interface with airlines OEMs FAA and suppliers to ensure project timeline is achieved.
• Act as subject matter expert for certification issues in a variety of areas including flammability dynamic and static testing design compliance and aircraft installation and integration level IIII.
• Develop internal best practices level IIIII.
• Monitor latest industry issues and documents; communicate information to applicable team members level IIIII.
• Represent company at customer industry or other required meetings.
• Maintain a safe secure and legal work environment adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the Companys information and products.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
