Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in academic studio environments preferred.
• Ability to operate and maintain ceramics equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with and provides feedback to students with regard to project completion.
• Maintains awareness of trends and advances within ceramics.
• Maintains inventories of instructional supplies and equipment and orders supplies as necessary.
• Researches, recommends and purchases equipment within budget to ensure efficient operations.
• Provides safety awareness and training in ceramics programs and trains students in kiln firing and safety.
• Coordinates a kiln-firing schedule for the department.
• Provides regular updates to the supervisor on departmental conditions.
• Maintains good working relationships with Facilities and vendors for maintenance and clean-up.
• Complies with OSHA safety standards.
