Job summary

Dallas College in Texas seeks a Faculty member who teaches students effectively in assigned classes and maintains office hours for student consultation. This role requires engaging with diverse student populations and delivering quality instruction.

You will be responsible for using technology to facilitate learning, maintaining records, and participating in college committees, professional development, and campus events.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses.
  • For workforce education degree or certificate courses: three years of direct or related work experience.
  • For developmental courses: Bachelor's degree or higher in the teaching discipline and demonstrated competency.
  • Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides students with a written course syllabus.
  • Participates in evaluation of the instructional process and uses innovative strategies to improve learning.
  • Participates in development and support of their discipline by revising curricula and recommending teaching assignments.
  • Maintains accurate and complete course records.
  • Performs professional activities and assumes responsibilities as agreed with the division dean and works with colleagues to achieve goals.
  • Values the collaborative process.
  • Uses knowledge of diverse communities and learning styles to tailor instruction.
  • Participates in student advising and registration.
  • Utilizes technology to facilitate learning, access data, and generate reports.
  • Meets professional assignments per the System's calendar and obligations.
  • Complies with Dallas College policies, state and federal policy, and student code of conduct.
  • Contributes to college mission and goals through committee involvement and budgeting.
  • Serves on college committees and attends required meetings and activities.
  • Engages in performance appraisal and demonstrates ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
  • May work with student clubs/organizations.
  • Promotes the college in the community through marketing activities.
  • Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours.
