Job summary

Howmet Aerospace seeks a Core Process Owner to lead ceramic core manufacturing processes across Howmet Engine facilities. You will establish standards, drive fixed process governance, and ensure consistent execution with internal and supplier partners.

This role guides enterprise standardization of materials, methods, and specifications, and leads cross-functional initiatives to improve yield and process capability within the investment casting domain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of engineering/manufacturing experience in investment casting, ceramic core manufacturing, or related processes.
• Experience developing specifications, manufacturing standards, procedures, or process documentation.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Strong understanding of SPC, process capability, root cause analysis, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel 50% to manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
• ITAR-related work requires U.S. person status.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SPA for ceramic core manufacturing process control and fixed process governance across all core locations.
• Establish and maintain standards, best practices, and technical specifications for ceramic core materials and processes.
• Provide technical authority for ceramic core materials, processes, and engineering specs.
• Lead cross-location change management and standardized work to ensure disciplined execution of processes.
• Lead monthly process audits, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions with executive leadership.
• Improve ceramic core yield, dimensional capability, strength, and manufacturing performance.
• Develop best practices for core strengthening, impregnation, coatings, sealants, and treatments before wax injection.
• Standardize handling of ceramic cores across wax injection dies and related operations.
• Lead initiatives with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain across locations.
• Evaluate and implement emerging ceramic core technologies and automation.
