Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. seeks a senior engineer to serve as the single point of accountability for ceramic core manufacturing processes and standards.

The role drives enterprise standardization, audits, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple sites in support of investment casting operations. You will lead process improvements, establish technical specifications, and mentor engineers to ensure disciplined execution and high core yield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering or manufacturing experience in investment casting, ceramic core manufacturing, advanced ceramics, or related processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives across multiple locations.
• Strong understanding of statistical process control, process capability, root cause analysis, and manufacturing quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SPA for ceramic core manufacturing process control and fixed process governance across all core locations.
• Establish and maintain standards, best practices, and technical specifications for ceramic core suppliers and processes.
• Provide technical authority to drive enterprise standardization of ceramic core materials and processes.
• Lead audits of internal ceramic core facilities and report findings to leadership.
• Drive improvements to maximize ceramic core yield and casting quality.
• Develop best practices for ceramic core strengthening, treatments, and handling across wax injection to casting.
