Job summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a CEQA Project Manager in San Diego, CA to manage California Environmental Quality Act compliance for district capital projects. The role serves as the environmental review expert, coordinating consultants, agencies and documentation to ensure projects are planned, reviewed and approved under CEQA statutes and guidelines.

The position integrates CEQA into overall project management, collaborates with the District's legal department, and supports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of CEQA project management experience.
• Deep understanding of CEQA regulations, compliance and technical documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• CEQA compliance and environmental review management for district projects, ensuring proper documentation and legally defensible conclusions.
• Administer and oversee CEQA Program EIRs and tiering in line with CEQA Guidelines.
• Coordinate CEQA consultants, specialists, and contractors, integrating CEQA timelines with project schedules and approvals.
• Develop and implement Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Programs (MMRPs) and track mitigation compliance through project completion.
• Manage CEQA public noticing, involvement of agencies, and responses to comments.
• Maintain complete CEQA administrative records and support legal defense when needed.
• Provide guidance and training to staff and project teams on CEQA processes and best practices.
