Job summary

FirstCarbon Solutions (FCS) seeks an Environmental Analyst to support CEQA/NEPA compliance through research, data analysis, and technical writing. You will draft sections of environmental documents, review site plans, and coordinate with internal experts and agencies to ensure accurate impact analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Biology, or related field.
• At least 1 year of professional experience OR formal education in related field including technical writing.
• Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear text.
• Ability to interpret and summarize regulatory requirements, technical reports, and environmental data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, organize, and analyze data on environmental topics to support CEQA/NEPA review.
• Draft written sections of environmental documents, including Initial Studies, EIRs/EISs, Addenda, and Exemptions.
• Review development site plans and technical studies to support impact analysis.
• Provide data and document content to meet project requirements for Project Managers.
• Communicate with internal specialists and external agencies to verify data and findings.
• Conduct site visits to support environmental analysis.
• Perform administrative tasks such as document formatting and file organization.
• Gain practical experience through project work and mentorship.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Biology, or a related field

Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills

Excellent research and data analysis abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines

Strong communication and teamwork
