Job summary

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) seeks a senior Chief of Staff to partner with the President and CEO, strengthening executive team effectiveness and aligning enterprise priorities. The role emphasizes strategy, governance, and cross-functional coordination to accelerate impact across health care systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent senior-level experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible executive office leadership, enterprise coordination, or cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary strategic advisor and thought partner to the CEO on enterprise priorities and decisions.
• Drive enterprise-wide alignment on strategy, culture, and outcomes in partnership with the CEO and executive team.
• Coordinate and accelerate cross-functional execution, surface barriers, and manage interdependencies.
• Prepare and position the CEO for high-stakes engagements and stakeholder interactions.
• Lead preparation of Board materials and ensure tracking of decisions and action items.
• Support organizational change by aligning leadership and promoting adoption.
