Job summary

Halcyon is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization from its current phase and amplify its global impact. The role emphasizes storytelling, donor engagement, and leading an inclusive, mission-driven team in Washington DC with some national remote work flexibility.

The CEO will shape strategy, lead fundraising, and expand Halcyon’s accelerator programs while upholding a strong commitment to diversity and equitable access to opportunity in innovation ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to bring together vision, fundraising, storytelling, and relationship-building.
• Strong organizational leadership and execution capabilities.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with donors and major stakeholders.
• Proven ability to communicate mission-driven narratives powerfully and authentically.
• Background in leading social impact organizations or mission-driven ventures.
• Experience with strategic planning and organizational growth.
• Fundraising experience at scale.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Shape the strategic direction and future vision of Halcyon.
• Lead organizational growth and expansion of the accelerator’s reach and impact.
• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy to support organizational goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with major donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Tell Halcyon’s story powerfully and authentically across multiple audiences.
• Provide visionary leadership to staff and guide organizational culture.
• Oversee execution of accelerator programs and entrepreneur support initiatives.
• Connect Halcyon’s mission, entrepreneurs, and outcomes to inspire community engagement.
