Job summary

Handex Consulting & Remediation, LLC is seeking a Centrifuge Operator to join our growing environmental services team. You will be onsite at client sites across regions, operating centrifuges, assisting with dewatering and sludge removal, and supporting safety and efficiency on projects.

The role requires 2+ years of centrifuge experience, willingness to travel, 12-hour shifts, and a strong safety mindset. Candidates should be reliable, able to lift 50 lbs, and have a valid license and reliable

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• 2+ years of centrifuge operating experience and knowledge of 2-phase and 3-phase decanter centrifuge operations.
• Willingness to travel and work at remote project sites, including 12-hour shifts and rotating nights/weekends/overtime.
• Military industrial/mechanical experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with industrial and dewatering/sludge removal at client sites.
• Receive work direction from on-site supervisor or PM; follow instructions and communicate effectively.
• Monitor and operate centrifuge feed capacities; condition feed stock with polymer injection and additives.
• Operate equipment such as positive displacement pumps and polymer blending systems.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Operate light and heavy equipment (skid steers, forklifts, pressure washers).
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Maintain expenses and timesheets accurately and promptly.
• Represent Handex professionally and collaborate with teammates.

As a Centrifuge Operator, you’ll play a key role in industrial dewatering and processing operations, helping our clients keep their projects running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You’ll work on project-based assignments across the North, Southeast, and Midwest regions, giving you the chance to tackle diverse challenges and expand your expertise.

Handex Consulting & Remediation, LLC is a full-service environmental company focused on providing professional environmental consulting, remediation, construction and sludge dewatering services in the United States. Founded in 1968, we have over 58+ years of experience and have no intention of slowing down!

What will be my responsibilities?

• As part of our HIS team, you will be assigned to our client site and assist with industrial and dewatering/sludge removal.
• Receive work direction from the on-site supervisor or PM, follow instructions carefully, maintain open and effective communication to ensure smooth and efficient operations, and proactively handle any challenges.
• Monitor and operate maximum centrifuge feed capacities, including conditioning centrifuge feed stock through polymer injection and the use of various chemical additives.
• Operate special equipment, such as positive displacement pumps and polymer blending systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment used for each project to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Operate light and heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, pressure washers and mechanical tools.
• Learn, understand, and comply with all safety work practices, policies, and procedures always.
• Accurately maintain and promptly process expenses and timesheets.
• Consistently represent Handex in a professional manner while assigned to projects, collaborating effectively with teammates, and maintaining respectful and positive working relationships with the team.

Requirements

Skills needed for success:

• High school diploma/GED.
• 2+ years of centrifuge operating experience along with intricate knowledge of 2 phase and 3 phase decanter centrifuge operations.
• Willingness to travel and work effectively at remote project sites, including 12-hour shifts along with flexible rotational schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Military industrial/mechanical experience a plus.
• Excellent team players with good communication skills, reliability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Comfortable being in an industrial/refinery setting both indoors and outside as well as confined spaces and able to lift 50 lbs.
• TWIC card and 40 Hour OSHA is a plus.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and a drivers license in good standing. Real ID or a vaild passport too.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks which include physical/drug/alcohol/MVR/criminal.

Salary Range:

$25.00 to $35.00/HR plus OT

Salary based on experience.
