Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking an experienced Centrifugal Chiller Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and startup large commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with Trane, York, Carrier, and Daikin centrifugal chillers and a strong understanding of chiller controls and BAS systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Minimum 3 years of centrifugal chiller experience.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Trane, York, Carrier, and Daikin/McQuay centrifugal chillers.
• Perform preventive maintenance, annual inspections, and major overhauls.
• Analyze chiller performance using vibration and oil analysis and operational data.
• Troubleshoot and repair chiller control systems, VFDs, refrigerant circuits, motors, and compressors.
• Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, charging, and evacuation procedures.
• Complete service reports and customer recommendations; respond to emergency service calls and on‑call rotation.
• Maintain EPA, OSHA, and company safety standards; build strong customer relationships.
