Job summary

RFA Engineering is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team in Mapleton, Illinois. The role focuses on developing and implementing an advanced centrifugal casting process, combining hands-on shop floor work with design of experiments and production-process improvement.

You will establish manufacturing parameters, document results, and apply structured problem-solving to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical degree
• 2+ years of relevant industrial experience (or 4+ with an associate degree)
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with foundry, casting, or related processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of centrifugal casting processes
• Prepare, inspect, and start manufacturing equipment for daily experiments
• Plan and document design of experiments related to casting and manufacturing-process development
• Analyze experimental results and recommend process adjustments
• Apply structured problem-solving to identify root causes and resolve issues
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes with focus on safety, quality, cost, traceability, and production flow
• Review engineering drawings and apply GD&T
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production personnel
• Travel domestically up to 25%
