Additional Information About the Role

Looking to hire a full-time Scheduler for our Revenue Cycle team!

Additional Preferred Requirements

  • Remote Monday - Friday 9-5:30
  • Saturday Rotation every 16 weeks from 8-12 PM
  • Training will be on-site at BJC at the Commons up to 20 weeks 8-4:30
  • Daily Pay!
  • Preferred experience: EPIC, Patient Registration, Call Center experience, Patient Scheduling, Insurance Verification

Role Purpose

The Centralized Scheduling Representative is often the first point of contact for patients and must exemplify BJC's standards of customer service, compassion, and professionalism. The role involves facilitating all aspects of patient entry into BJC facilities, requiring emotional intelligence, professionalism, and personal connection. Accuracy in collecting demographics, insurance verification, benefit verification, and scheduling is critical to reimbursement and patient safety. The team member must be friendly, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about insurance carriers, Medicare, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess and respond to patient needs using critical thinking, ensuring accurate records and scheduled services. Communicate professionally with patients, families, and providers to ensure a positive experience, maximize reimbursements, and reduce denials.
  2. Handle hospital pre-registration and scheduling across multiple BJC systems and locations, ensuring proper patient identification, demographic validation, insurance verification, and appointment coordination.
  3. Understand and enforce hospital compliance with Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) and HIPAA standards, exercising independent judgment to resolve complex issues.
  4. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.

Education
