Job summary

Superior Central Boiler is seeking a Central Utility Plant Operator to ensure reliable operation of critical infrastructure across New Jersey and adjacent regions. You will monitor BAS/BMS, perform water testing, and maintain complex utility systems in high-stakes environments.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and strict safety/compliance adherence. A valid driver’s license and boiler operating credentials are required for this full-time role.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• 2–3 years of hands-on high‑pressure boiler plant or central utility plant experience.
• Knowledge of steam/hot-water generation, chilled-water systems, water treatment, pumps and compressors.
• Familiarity with BAS/BMS platforms, fire alarm panels, and CMMS usage.
• Proficiency in boiler water testing, chemical treatment, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office and digital work-order systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor BAS/BMS, assess pressures, temperatures, and system trends.
• Investigate alarms, coordinate corrective actions and document findings.
• Perform boiler water testing and chemistry checks.
• Inspect boilers, burners, controls, LWCO devices, safety valves and combustion.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and dealkalizers.
• Monitor fire alarm devices and communicate issues per protocol.
• Record operating data, manage work orders, and maintain logs.
• Enforce OSHA, LOTO procedures, and safety standards.
