Position Summary

Okeechobee Healthcare Facility is seeking a dependable and organized Central Supply Clerk to join our team. The Central Supply Clerk is responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of medical supplies, receiving and organizing deliveries, distributing supplies throughout the facility, and ensuring that nursing departments have the necessary supplies to provide safe, high-quality resident care.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory of medical, nursing, and facility supplies.

• Monitor supply levels and identify items that need to be reordered.

• Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming supply deliveries.

• Organize central supply areas to ensure supplies are clean, accessible, and properly labeled.

• Distribute supplies to nursing units and other departments as requested.

• Maintain appropriate stock levels while avoiding unnecessary overstocking.

• Check expiration dates on applicable medical and treatment supplies and remove expired products.

• Assist with routine inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.

• Complete supply requisitions and communicate supply needs to appropriate leadership.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary supply room.

• Ensure supplies are stored according to manufacturer recommendations and facility policies.

• Assist with tracking specialty supplies and equipment.

• Communicate shortages, damaged products, or delivery discrepancies to management.

• Work closely with nursing, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to meet facility supply needs.

• Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection prevention and safety requirements.

• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information in accordance with HIPAA.

• Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous experience in central supply, inventory control, healthcare, long-term care, or a related environment preferred.

• Previous skilled nursing or healthcare experience is a plus.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to accurately count, document, and maintain inventory.

• Ability to communicate effectively with staff members and department leaders.

• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

• Basic computer skills required.

• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
