Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Shasta Regional Medical Center is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to decontaminate, prepare and sterilize trays, instruments and equipment. You will handle inventory, restocking, data entry and patient charge card batching, while demonstrating knowledge of all facility departments and strong communication.

Two years of CST experience and a current BLS card are preferred; Central Supply Certified is desired.

Qualifications

• Verbal communication and written communication skills required.
• Experience as Central Sterile Technician preferred (2+ years).
• BLS (AHA) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare and sterilize Central Sterile trays and instruments.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies; perform data entry and billing tasks as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of department locations and effective communication with staff.

Responsibilities

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Two (2) years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred

Facility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):

• At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Central Supply Certified certification required
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities
