Job summary

Shasta Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg/Telemetry unit. The RN delivers safe patient care and guides patient/family education while maintaining nursing standards.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS and ACLS within 30 days, plus arrhythmia interpretation. Prior acute care and ventilator management experience are preferred; BSN is preferred and Night shift availability offered.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License required.
• BLS certificate required upon hire and must be current.
• ACLS certificate required within 30 days of hire and must be current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care in Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patient condition, including cardiac monitoring and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to their assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement requirements and/or the employment status, i.e. full-time or part-time. The current compensation range for this role is $43.28 to $71.14. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
