Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center - A Duke LifePoint Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to join our team. The schedule is Days, rotating weekends, supporting a busy operating room with diverse procedures.

Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, assisting during surgery, passing instruments, and handling specimen transport to the lab. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and required certifications within stated timeframes.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Counts instruments and supplies.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
