Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for sterile processing and support perioperative services. You will sterilize, assemble, and store surgical instruments, and prepare case carts with accuracy and timeliness.

Collaboration with Perioperative Nursing is essential to sustain workflow, while prior CST or CCST credentials are preferred. GED or higher education required, with related sterile processing experience valued.

Qualifications

• Education and certification requirements for Central Sterile processing.
• 3 years of Central Sterile experience required, or CST certification.
• CCST or CST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
