Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for evenings, full-time hours, to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize instruments and trays. You will also manage inventory, enter data, and batch patient charges across multiple department locations.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years in a sterile processing role, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Two years’ experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Central Supply Certified certification, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilities.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare and sterilize Central Sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
• Inventory management and restocking of supplies; data entry and patient charge batching.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations and excellent verbal/written communication.
