Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for sterilization and instrument preparation. You will work with the Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile sets and case carts, contributing to safe patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and graduate status as a Central Sterile Tech, or equivalent experience in lieu of CST certification.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
