Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join our Sterile Processing team. You will sterilize, assemble and store surgical instruments, ensuring compliance with standards and timely support for perioperative services.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, graduation from a Central Sterile Technician program, or 3 years of Central Sterile experience in lieu of CST certification. Preference for CCST or CST credentials.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program required.
• If CST certificate is not held, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
