Job summary

Sentara Virginia Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Central Sterile Services Technician II to join its Sterile Processing team. This full-time, evening shift (3pm-11pm, M-F) offers an opportunity to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize and prepare surgical instruments and equipment for patient care.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year CSS/central sterile processing experience, with CRCST certification required and HSD/GED or higher.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.
