Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA is hiring a Central Sterile Service Tech I to join a hospital setting focused on safety and efficiency. The role covers receiving, decontamination, sterilization, storing and distributing instruments and prepares case carts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous expereince as a Central Sterile Services Tech is preferred
• A certified CSS Tech is preferred

• Assembles and disassembles case carts.
• Operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards.

Located in Hampton, VA, Sentara Careplex Hospital provides advanced programs, specialized services, and is home to the area’s first dedicated orthopedic hospital. We focus on attention to detail to keep our patients safe.

Central Sterile Service Tech I is responsible for receiving, decontamination, sterilizing, storing, and distributing all instruments handled by Sterile Processing. Assembles and disassembles case carts.

The Central Sterile Services Technician I is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies used in patient care. This position operates and maintains sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards. Examines medical equipment for defects and reports faulty equipment to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous expereince as a Central Sterile Services Tech is preferred
• A certified CSS Tech is preferred
