Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Certified Central Sterile Service Technician II. This role involves decontamination, assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment for patient care, with responsibilities for equipment inspection and safe operation of sterilization systems.

The position is full-time, 3pm-11pm, Monday through Friday, with a rotating shift.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required.
• CRCST certification required.
• At least 1 year CSS/sterilization experience.
• Operate and maintain decontamination, assembly and sterilization equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment for patient care.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment per procedures and standards.
• Inspect medical equipment for defects and report faulty items.
• Support Sterile Processing workflows and infection control practices.
