Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Retrieve used equipment and instruments from patient areas and clean them.
• Assemble, wrap, label, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Inventory sterilization supplies and report items for reorder.
• Verify package integrity before sterilization and store finished sets.
• Unload sterilizers and deliver to designated storage areas or departments.

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Central Sterile Processing Technician for full-time, Evening Shift- 2:30p-11:00p

The Sterile Processing Tech is primarily responsible for storing preparing, sterilizing, assembling and delivering supplies and equipment to designated area.

As a Central Sterile Processing Tech, you will:

• Retrieve used equipment and instruments from patient areas; cleans properly and places in designated areas
• Inventory Sterilization supplies and reports needed items to clerk for reorder in a timely manner
• Assemble, wraps and labels all instruments/trays and prepares them for sterilization
• Visually check all items before placing in sterilizer for package integrity
• Unload sterilizer after each completed load and prepares them for delivery or places in proper storage in CS

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
• BLS Required
