Job summary

East Alabama Health is seeking a Sterile Instrument Technician II to perform decontamination, prep, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of instruments used in patient care areas.

Responsibilities include assembling perioperative case carts and supplies, restocking specialty carts, crash carts and requisitioned devices to support high-quality reprocessing and safe patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification through CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA.
• Advance knowledge of surgical instruments, their uses, location and appropriate substitutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sterilized surgical instrumentation and disinfect medical devices for patient care areas.
• Decontaminate, prep and package, sterilize, store and distribute instruments.
• Assemble case carts and supplies for Perioperative Services.
• Restock and issue specialty carts, crash carts and requisitioned medical devices throughout the facility.

These duties require achieving competencies in decontamination, prep and packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution. Supports services in patient care areas by promoting highest quality reprocessing. Assembles case carts and supplies for Perioperative Services. Restocks and issues specialty carts, crash carts and issues requisitioned medical devices throughout EAMC.
