Job summary

Henrico Doctors' Hospitals, part of the Parham Doctors' Hospitals family, seeks a Lead Central Sterile Technician to ensure surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized and ready for use. You will lead through example, fostering safety, teamwork and continuous improvement to improve patient outcomes.

You will organize instruments by surgery schedules, monitor processes, keep records, and train team members to uphold infection control standards while delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician.
• Previous experience in Central Sterile is required and previous lead central sterile experience preferred.

• Leading the preparation, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, making sure all items are properly cleaned and ready for use
• Organizing instruments and equipment based on surgery schedules and special case needs
• Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked workspace that supports the team and upholds the highest infection control standards
• Training and supporting team members to work safely, follow best practices, and care for every patient like family

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Lead Central Sterile Technician, you’ll help deliver safe, high-quality care by ensuring surgical instruments and supplies are expertly cleaned, sterilized, and ready to use. With strong attention to detail and by leading through example, you’ll help create a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement that drives excellent outcomes and improves lives every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring sterilization processes and equipment performance, keeping accurate records, and promptly reporting any issues

What qualifications you will need:

• Possess the ability to work Monday - Friday, 1p - 9:30p with weekend on-call
