Job Responsibilities
  • Obtain demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during appointment scheduling for patient tests and procedures.
  • Perform pre-registration activities and respond to real-time eligibility verification.
  • Provide instructions to patients on test preparation and print/mail itineraries if lead time permits.
  • Validate medical necessity (ABN review) of Medicare cases to ensure clinical and financial clearance.
  • Obtain and process signed physician orders to ensure proper clinical documentation for care delivery.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minute).
  • High school diploma and/or associate degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a physician office, hospital, or clinic environment performing patient scheduling activities is highly desired.
