Job Summary

The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients to identify behaviors potentially hazardous to self or others, in accordance with facility policies and procedures. They report needs and concerns to a licensed nurse. CSSO Safety Attendants are responsible for delivering safe, continuous, quality patient care across various settings. They are part of a market-based, corporate float pool team assigned to different units during their shift to meet patient care needs within the facility. These CNAs possess the required skills, competency, and qualifications, and must be able to work in three pre-determined facilities within a defined market (Greater Charlotte or Greater Winston Salem). This group is known as the General Pool.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.
    • Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required.
    • Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after De-Escalation Training), required.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Ability to complete skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge of infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Maintain standards set by these guidelines.
    • Ability to work with patients of all ages or act as a companion.
    • Basic computer skills for documentation.
