Job Summary

The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients to identify behaviors that may be hazardous to self or others, in accordance with facility policies and procedures. They report needs and concerns to a licensed nurse. CSSO Safety Attendants are responsible for delivering safe, continuous, quality patient care across various settings. They are part of a market-based, corporate float pool team assigned to different units during their shift to meet patient care needs within the facility. These CNAs must possess the necessary skills, competency, and qualifications, and are required to work in three pre-determined facilities within a defined market (Greater Charlotte or Greater Winston Salem). This group is known as the General Pool.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: De-Escalation Techniques, Life Support Responder, and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training, all within specified timeframes.
  • Additional Skills: Ability to complete validation and competency testing, knowledge of infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics. Capable of working with all age groups and basic computer skills for documentation.
