Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Part-time Sterile Processing Technician at Farmington Hills Hospital to oversee workflows, precept CPD Tech students, and address equipment and supply issues. You will help with staff development and evaluations while modeling best practices in processing instruments and supplies.

The role requires a sterile processing program completion, CSPDT and CRCST certifications, and at least two years of relevant experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant sterile processing experience.
• Successful completion of sterile processing program required.

Scope of work

Assists in overseeing and directing/precepting the workflow of the Central Processing Technician students and CPD Tech I's duties as well as equipment and supply issues in work area in accordance with established policies, procedures and Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards. Provides input into the staff evaluations and assists with staff development on shift, as appropriate. Acts as a role model and resource to peers and other members of the health care team related to processing of equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• 2 years of relevant experience. Sterile processing technician experience or related sterile processing
• Successful completion of sterile processing program (internal or external) Required
• Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) – CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution Upon Hire Required
• Registered Central Services Technician, Certified (CRCST) – IAHCSMM - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management Upon Hire Required
