Job summary

University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking a Power Plant Operations & Maintenance professional to manage operation, maintenance and repair of the Central Plant and related systems. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and record keeping to support 1,475 acres of facilities and campus operations.

Responsibilities include equipment service, emergency response, and participating in preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Must have rigging knowledge and ability to align pumps, fans and motors.
• Experienced in pipe sizing and fitting for various materials.
• Capable of replacing bearings and seals on pumps and motors.
• LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) procedures knowledge and practice.
• Ability to operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair central plant equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication; maintain clear records and logs.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, service and repair Central Plant equipment and systems.
• Maintain logs of equipment operation, maintenance and materials used.
• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance programs for reliability.
• Provide emergency services and excellent customer communications.
• Perform other operational and maintenance duties as assigned.
