Job summary

TheCorporate LLC in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an experienced Centerless Grinder / Machine Setup Operator to join a precision manufacturing operation. You will set up and run centerless grinding equipment to produce high-precision pins, shafts, and related components for aerospace, defense, medical, and tech sectors.

Candidates should have 2+ years of centerless grinding experience, read engineering drawings, select tooling, and maintain quality with micrometers and calipers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.

• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot machine/setup issues.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate centerless grinding machines including through-feed, plunge, and form grinding.

• Set and adjust speeds, feeds, and grinding parameters.
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, and surface-finish gauges.
• Identify and document quality issues and non-conformances.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Centerless Grinder / Machine Setup Operator to join a precision manufacturing operation in Bridgeport, CT.

This position is responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding equipment to produce high-precision components used across aerospace, defense, medical, technology, and other precision industries.

Candidates with strong centerless grinding experience are encouraged to apply. Aerospace experience is helpful but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate centerless grinding machines, including through-feed, plunge, and form grinding.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Select and install appropriate grinding wheels, dressing tools, and tooling.
• Set and adjust machine controls, speeds, feeds, and grinding parameters.
• Load, align, and position workpieces accurately.
• Monitor grinding operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance.
• Inspect finished components using micrometers, calipers, surface-finish gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Identify and document quality issues and non-conformances.
• Maintain accurate production records, travelers, and inspection documentation.
• Participate in process improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving activities.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE, machine guarding, and Lockout/Tagout.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of centerless grinding or similar precision grinding experience.
• Experience setting up and operating centerless grinding equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
• Understanding of machining fundamentals, including speeds, feeds, tooling, and grinding parameters.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot machine/setup issues.
• Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle/move workpieces as required.

Compensation

$25–$40+ per hour, based on experience, technical expertise, and demonstrated capabilities.

Higher-end compensation is reserved for candidates with exceptional centerless grinding expertise, strong setup capabilities, proven productivity, versatility, and the ability to operate at a high technical level.
