Job summary

Double E, a global manufacturer based in West Bridgewater, MA, seeks a Centerless Grinder to set up and operate centerless grinding machines, ensuring precise dimensions and finishes on metal workpieces. This hands-on role requires blueprint literacy, mechanical aptitude, and diligent attention to detail.

You will interpret process sheets, run machines (#3 and #2), and maintain safe, organized work areas while meeting quality standards and production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience.
• Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Overtime availability as needed.

About The Role

The Centerless Grinder is responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines to grind external surfaces of metal workpieces to precise dimensions and finishes. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure high-quality production parts.

What You'll Do

• Setup, operate, and run centerless grinding machines (Both #3 and #2)
• Work from process sheets, blueprints or other written/verbal instructions to perform production tasks
• Stop machines to remove finished pieces or to change tooling, setup, piece placement, according to required machining sequences
• Load machines manually or using a crane when maneuvering large, awkward or heavy parts
• Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner
• Check and inspect parts against predetermined tolerances
• Work in other areas or departments assigned for work on other machinery and equipment (training will be provided)
• Follow all company policies, safety policies, and quality guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

Requirements

About you

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and inspection techniques
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to work overtime as needed

• Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred
• Past experience running a Cincinnati Centerless Grinder
