Job summary

Double E is seeking a Centerless Grinder to set up and operate centerless grinding machines, reading blueprints and process sheets to produce precise metal parts. You will inspect parts against tolerances, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and follow all safety and quality guidelines.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of hands-on machining experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work overtime in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment in West Bridgewater, MA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and inspection techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate, and run centerless grinding machines (Both #3 and #2).
• Work from process sheets, blueprints or other written/verbal instructions to perform production tasks.
• Stop machines to remove finished pieces or to change tooling, setup, piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
• Load machines manually or using a crane when maneuvering large, awkward or heavy parts.
• Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner.
• Check and inspect parts against predetermined tolerances.
• Follow all company policies, safety policies, and quality guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

About the role

The Centerless Grinder is responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines to grind external surfaces of metal workpieces to precise dimensions and finishes. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure high-quality production parts.

• Work from process sheets, blueprints or other written/verbal instructions to perform production tasks
• Stop machines to remove finished pieces or to change tooling, setup, piece placement, according to required machining sequences
• Load machines manually or using a crane when maneuvering large, awkward or heavy parts
• Maintain machine and work area in a clean and safe manner
• Check and inspect parts against predetermined tolerances
• Work in other areas or departments assigned for work on other machinery and equipment (training will be provided)
• Follow all company policies, safety policies, and quality guidelines
• Perform additional tasks as assigned

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to work overtime as needed
