Job summary

D&W Fresh Market is seeking a department supervisor in Williamston, MI to lead daily store operations, train associates, and manage staffing and scheduling. You will control inventory, validate orders, and ensure product quality and freshness while adhering to safety guidelines.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with 0–2 years retail experience preferred. Spanish skills are a plus in some locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 0–2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management.
• Strong leadership abilities with hands-on environment experience.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Spanish communication ability desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Ensure associates are trained, department staffed, and KPI goals met.
• Order and maintain inventory with markdowns to minimize loss.
• Validate received orders for quality, quantity, and weight.
• Manage a team to handle stocking, production, and related tasks.
• Maintain product knowledge across department and store.
• Communicate flight plans and execute to company expectations.
• Assist with scheduling, labor control, and payroll costs.
• Support department manager with staffing and development.
