Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers. You will follow menus designed by our in-house nutritionist and help ensure kids have the fuel they need to learn and grow.

You’ll perform kitchen duties safely, manage inventory, and support daily center operations. The role requires love for children, food safety awareness, and the ability to collaborate with staff to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Love for children and desire to make a difference daily.
• Familiarity with accurate food storage and allergy considerations; avoid cross-contamination.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare quantities for center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning.
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking; food ordering experience desirable.
• Two or more years working with children desirable.
• Physically able to use a computer and lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete timely documentation per KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Support center staff and leadership to achieve enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
