Job summary

National Audubon Society seeks a seasoned Center Director to lead the Sharon Audubon Center and act as the local Audubon leader for Sharon, CT and nearby communities. You will guide program development, staff management, and community partnerships to advance conservation goals.

The role requires strong fundraising capability, strategic planning, and the ability to collaborate across Audubon’s regional teams. Some on-site work is expected with potential limited remote options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an environmental field, education, biology, or related area.
• Ten or more years leading interpretive/environmental programming; 1–2 years in staff management.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and fundraising skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide dynamic, collaborative leadership for the Center's vision, strategies, programs and staff.
• Oversee facilities, budgets, programs, and staffing; manage center operations.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan and donor engagement.
• Collaborate with regional staff to align Sharon Center with Audubon CT/NY priorities.
• Ensure safety, program quality, and community engagement across Sharon and surrounding areas.
