Job summary

Mathnasium is seeking a Center Director in California who will run the center like a small business, driving day‑to‑day operations, enrollment growth, and student success. You will lead a team of math instructors and center leads, manage parent relationships, and own the center's performance metrics.

You will balance strategic planning with hands-on execution, bringing strong leadership and sales skills, and a passion for helping students excel through the Mathnasium Method.

Qualifications

• Previous management or leadership experience is required.
• Track record in sales or customer relationships — you're comfortable owning a number
• A genuine passion for math and for helping students succeed
• The ability to balance strategy with hands‑on, in‑the‑weeds execution
• Confidence to make decisions quickly and follow through without second‑guessing
• Strong math competency (through at least Algebra I) — you'll be tested, not just interviewed

Responsibilities

• Full day-to-day operations — you run the center like it's your own business
• Sales and enrollment: respond to leads quickly, convert them into enrolled families, and hit growth targets
• Team leadership: recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop a team of math instructors and leads
• Student success: oversee assessments, learning plans, and instructional quality so every student progresses
• Parent relationships: be the trusted point of contact who keeps families engaged, satisfied, and enrolled
• Center performance: track KPIs, manage profitability, and make the calls that keep the business healthy
• Local marketing: build relationships with schools and the community to keep the pipeline of leads strong
