Job summary

Southmountain Children and Family Services in Morehead City, NC seeks a Center Director/Forensic Interviewer to lead the Carteret County Children’s Advocacy Center. You will coordinate with partner agencies, conduct forensic interviews, and prepare cases for weekly reviews.

This full-time role requires collaboration with MDT members and the family advocate and therapist at the center. The position reports to the Regional Director, with a typical Monday–Friday schedule and occasional after-hours

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required; preference for Human Services.
  • Strong organizational, group facilitation, and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Forensic interviewing and public relations skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic interviews of children who report abuse and prepare case materials.
  • Coordinate with MDT partners and input data for weekly case reviews.
  • Facilitate MDT meetings and collaborate with family advocate and therapist at the center.
  • Work as Center Director reporting to the Regional Director; 40 hours/week with occasional after-hours on-call.

CENTER DIRECTOR/FORENSIC INTERVIEWER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Southmountain Children and Family Services is seeking a qualified candidate to join its team as a Center Director/Forensic Interviewer at the Carteret County Children’s Advocacy Center. The Center Director/Forensic Interviewer coordinates with partner agencies regarding child abuse and neglect cases. The director will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) composed of representatives from community agencies that investigate child abuse cases (the Department of Social Services, law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, and other community service providers). A primary responsibility of the director is to conduct forensic interviews of children who report abuse. Extensive training will be provided for this duty. The Director will collect and input data about each case, prepare the case for discussion at a weekly case review and facilitate the meetings. The Director will collaborate with other community service providers, as well as the family advocate and therapist at the center. The Center Director/Forensic Interviewer reports directly to the Regional Director and is required to work cooperatively with all multidisciplinary partners. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but requires flexibility for after-hours emergencies and periodic on-call.
