Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a leader to oversee the daily operations of a complex donor center, ensuring regulatory compliance and seamless donor flow. You will manage personnel, inventory, maintenance, and vendor coordination to meet production and quality goals.

This role requires strong leadership, budgeting awareness, and the ability to mentor other center leaders while partnering with quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Three years of operations and/or process management experience.
  • Three years of people management, including recruiting and training.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily center operations for a complex donor center.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP.
  • Lead audits and address deviations with leadership and quality teams.
  • Manage donor flow, inventory, procurement, and maintenance.
  • Direct performance reviews, hires, promotions, and terminations.
  • Mentor center leadership and liaise on strategic initiatives.

Job description

This role meticulously orchestrates and oversees the entirety of daily center operations for donor center designated as complex by Senior leadership, ensuring adept management of personnel, vigilant product oversight, smooth coordination of donor flow, and seamless functionality of critical resources.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations (FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP); ensure certifications/licenses are current; collaborate with departments to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Host internal and external audits; partner with leadership and quality teams to identify and resolve deviations, training needs, and best practices.
  • Promote and enforce Safety, Health, and Environmental policies; ensure safety training is implemented, resolve safety concerns, and maintain a clean, well-functioning facility.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and integrity of donor center equipment and storage systems, mitigating equipment failures and ensuring proper upkeep.
  • Maintain donor center functions and assets; inform leadership of irregularities; mitigate and report unsafe situations.
  • Oversee product inventory, sample storage, and unsuitable product management per SOPs; partner with corporate and vendors to ensure efficiency in shipments and procurement.
  • Achieve targeted production goals in quality and quantity; optimize operational costs, inventory, and purchase orders in compliance with company practices.
  • Direct employee performance evaluations, improvement/development plans, corrective actions, and employment decisions (hiring, promotions, terminations) in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures, assist in investigations, and foster a positive culture through mentorship and role modeling of core values.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, retraining, and leadership development; track training data and certifications; collaborate with Quality and Field teams to resolve deviations and audit findings.
  • Maintain training documentation and ensure regulatory compliance; communicate training needs and concerns with Field Training teams for proactive solutions.
  • Manage donor relations to foster retention, referrals, and growth; oversee payroll, staff meetings, and operational KPIs to drive performance.
  • Direct center marketing and advertising initiatives, collaborating with corporate departments to identify and implement enhancements.
  • Lead a donor center of designated complexity, factoring production volume, hours, staff size, donor base, competition, and product lines.
  • Provide mentorship to other Center leadership roles and serve as subject matter expert/liaison for strategic initiatives with project management operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience.
  • Three (3) years of people management, including recruiting and training (maybe concurrent with operations/process management experience).
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and/or budgeting preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop or kneel.
  • Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
  • Ability to view video display terminal less than 18” away from face for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -40°C for short periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer skills and other office equipment.
  • Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
  • Ability to navigate the office environment safely, including stairs and elevators (if applicable).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% via airplane and vehicle (if applicable).
  • Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, extended shifts and periodically after hours.
